About the Artist
Beginning her artistic journey at Punahoe Schools in Honolulu, Pamela's talent was recognized early. Her formal education at UC Davis brought her under the tutelage of renowned artists Wayne Thiebaud, Robert Arneson, and Roy Deforest, where she was immersed in the "California Funk" movement of the 70's.
This foundation in experimentation and exploration has evolved into her current work as a contemporary realist, combining plein aire techniques with studio refinement. Her approach bridges the immediacy of outdoor sketching with the thoughtful development of studio work, creating pieces that resonate with both emotional depth and technical mastery.

Artist Statement
"My work is a celebration of nature's beauty and its constant state of change. Through my paintings, I aim to capture not just the visual essence of a landscape, but the emotional response it evokes in the viewer."
